Graeme Egan, BA (Econ), CFP, CIM
Portfolio Manager & Certified Financial Planner
After graduating from McMaster University in 1988, Graeme Egan started his wealth management career as part of an advisory team with a national fee-only financial planning firm based in their Toronto head office, advising both executives and high net worth clients. In 1991 he moved to the Calgary office, progressing to a Senior Consultant with his own clients, and then finally, to Vancouver as a Regional Vice President and shareholder. During this time Graeme obtained his Certified Financial Planner and Chartered Investment Manager designations. In 2009 he joined a Vancouver-based fee-only wealth management firm and became a registered Portfolio Manager, providing comprehensive portfolio management and financial planning services to clients. Out of a desire to utilize his experience and knowledge in advising clients, as well as having a good understanding of the profession, Graeme formed CastleBay Wealth Management in 2015, a registered Portfolio Manager in BC, Alberta and Ontario. While he is passionate about helping clients, he also enjoys playing tennis, squash, downhill skiing, reading biographies and aspires to become an amateur mechanic. He is married and has two boys.
Sukjae Yim, BComm, CFA
Sukjae (Suke) Yim is a CFA charterholder, and a member of the CFA Institute and CFA Vancouver Society. He obtained his Bachelor of Commerce from the University of Victoria. His professional background is in portfolio risk and performance measurement for institutional investors, as well as portfolio administration for private client portfolios. As an Analyst on the CastleBay team, Sukjae assists with portfolio administration and monitoring to ensure that every portfolio that is managed by CastleBay is done accurately according to each client's customized long-term investment strategy. He also helps clients with any other issues of an administrative nature. Sukjae enjoys working with people and deeply believes in the comprehensive wealth management approach that CastleBay offers clients. His favorite activity is mountain biking - a sport that allows him to enjoy the outdoors, get exercise, meet new people and play with technology.
Scott Fairbairn, BFA
Scott Fairbairn graduated from the University of Victoria with a Bachelor of Fine Arts. He worked in the music industry in both technical and creative roles while developing his interest in, and focus on, the investment profession over the last 10 years. During this time Scott has played a key role in directing his family's investment portfolio, while also learning about reporting, research, long-term investment strategies and trading systems. He also currently sits on the Board of Directors for the Fairbairn Foundation. As an Analyst for CastleBay, and a member of a team delivering a client-centered comprehensive wealth management service, Scott's focus includes portfolio administration, monitoring, reporting and providing exemplary service. In addition to his interest in many outdoor activities, he is also an avid bonsai tree collector who follows the principles of technique, discipline and patience - qualities that make him an excellent contributor to the CastleBay team.
